Concentric Launches Remote Dial-up Service

Concentric Network Corp. Wednesday
kicked off the first phase of a global remote dial access solution that can
connect users to a local area network, a virtual private network or to the Net.

Concentric CorporateDial provides real-time management
tools for maintaining a dial network.

The basic dial service includes: a secure Web-based management tool allowing
layers of administrative control; IP filtering, the ability to block users
from accessing certain defined IP addresses, or to allow only certain IP
addresses to be accessed; toll-free 800 dial access for customers outside of
Concentric’s dial network area; an automatic local access number finder for
remote users; as well as GRIC Global Roaming, which enables Internet access
in over 80 countries.

The basic dial service can be complemented with one or more components of
Premium CorporateDial, which will be launched in multiple phases starting in
fourth quarter 2000. Premium Dial will allow organizations to match access
requirements with existing network resources, enabling them to modify the
service as needs change.

“Instead of simply repackaging a consumer dial product, Concentric tailored
CorporateDial to fit the differing access requirements of today’s
enterprises,” said Mark Fisher, senior vice president of marketing for
Concentric Network.

“CorporateDial is an industrial strength, secure access vehicle
incorporating a customized bundle of components, combining ease of use with
flexibility, to make it an ideal, remote access solution for large
enterprises.”
