Looking to accommodate the growing population of intranet users, Infoseek Corp.’s software division Monday announced a partnership with Viador Inc. to develop an intranet portal.
Viador will embed Infoseek’s Ultraseek Server 3.0 into its
E-Portal Suite 6 enterprise portal software. Users can access both structured and unstructured data sources including relational and multidimensional databases, business intelligence reports,
news and event data, HTML, Microsoft Office and Lotus Notes documents, the firms said.
The companies will jointly sell and promote the product.
“The integrated enterprise portal is
the right answer for companies that want to better leverage their
mission-critical,
internal information, and provide users with access to the widest possible
range of data
sources,” said Harry Motro, Infoseek president and chief executive officer.
“The Infoseek-Viador agreement will allow businesses to deliver all types of corporate information to their users, and use their
information and technology assets to optimize business performance.”
Viador’s E-Portal Suite 6 with Ultraseek Server 3.0, is scheduled for general availability in the third quarter.
