Intranet developer Infosquare
Corp.Wednesday released version OpenShare 2.0, an intranet and extranet publishing tool.
OpenShare is a Web-based, open platform application designed to allow users
to share data using existing office productivity tools while providing
Webmasters with administrative control over style, security and access.
The program converts documents to HTML and creates a uniform page based on
predefined or customizable templates. Files are transferred to the Web
server in the proper location and the intranet map, links, security
settings and search engine are updated.
The program is designed for non-technical users who may not be used to
network applications, said Matteo Cardano, Infosquare’s chief operating officer.
“Until now, giving employees a way to publish information quickly and easily
on the intranet/extranet was technically challenging and expensive,”
Cardano said. “OpenShare
helps IT relieve the backlog many Web administrators encounter as the
information to be posted on the intranet exceeds the resources available.”
OpenShare 2.0 is currently available from the vendor’s Web site. Pricing
starts at $995 for the small-business edition.
