Web content management specialist IntraNet Solutions Inc. (INRS) Thursday
got a boost when e-business software and services provider eGlobal
Technology Services, said it would help INRS’s acceleration in the Asia
Pacific region.
Financial terms of the multi-year deal were not made public. Under the aegis
of eGlobal, INRS will form a new business organization, IntraNet Solutions
Asia Pacific Limited, which will help the creator of enterprise knowledge
management solutions establish a presence in the growing Asia Pacific
markets, including Korea, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia,
Indonesia, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand.
The deal calls for the companies to jointly build direct sales, customer
support, training, consulting and reseller/VAR support across the region.
The new business organization will provide support for INRS’ flagship Xpedio
Content Management products. Xpedio provides deployment of business Web
sites, allowing users to design sites using standard Web tools.
Don Saunders, chief executive officer of eGlobal, said his company was more
than willing to accommodate INRS because the demand for proven knowledge
management solutions is high in the Asia Pacific.
“Companies are demanding technology that facilitates information exchange
within their organizations and, at the same time, reduces costs and
increases productivity,” Saunders said in a public statement Thursday. “As
our first and exclusive content management partner, IntraNet Solutions
presents a solid, reliable solution to real business problems for Asia
Pacific customers.”
eGlobal’s Lim Chin Chin was appointed vice president for the business
organization.
“eGlobal’s direct operations in 10 Asia Pacific countries lowers the risk
and accelerates the time to market for both customers and IntraNet
Solutions,” said Lim. “The new business will also service customers through
system integrator partners and local value added resellers in each country.”
For Eden Prairie, Minn.-based IntraNet Solutions, the deal adds the sizable
Asia Pacific region as another feather in its cap for international
expansion; the company, whose customers include such luminaries as Sun
Microsystems Inc., Merrill Lynch and Yahoo! Inc., lists more than 1,500
customers worldwide on its customer roster. The company has more than 475
employees and maintains offices throughout the U.S. and Europe.
