Less than six months after launching a free intranet for businesses, Intranets.com Tuesday reached 100,000
registered sites.

Professionals from a variety of sectors have signed on for
the enterprise tool which allows businesses to communicate more
efficiently through document sharing, calendar scheduling, custom
news delivery and personal vendor services.

Intranets.com was spun off by Idealab, a new vein of Net firm called an
incubator, or EcoNet. EcoNets, the largest of which include giants CMGI (CMGI)
and Internet Capital Group (ICG),
house smaller online firms in different stages of development.
