Wireless solution provider Mobilize Inc. was tabbed Tuesday to deploy its
Mobilize Web application for the Corporate and Federal Markets organization
of information sharing firm Lexis-Nexis Group.
Terms of the deal were not made public.
Lexis-Nexis Corporate and Federal Markets will use portable intranet
Mobilize Web, which enables a company’s mobile workers and partners to
access corporate information systems from outside the office, to consolidate
and organize the company’s sales support materials and provide its mobile
sales representatives with almost unlimited access.
As a result, content updates and deletions will automatically download to a
sales representative’s mobile device and be catalogued without requiring
their intervention. Workers will then be able to present customers with
accurate information, reducing the need for repeat sales calls.
Mobilize Chief Executive Officer Bob Pinna said his firm’s portable intranet
can be useful in helping a company’s marketing department centrally manage
the content on each mobile worker’s device, giving them better message
control and speeding delivery of new materials to the field.
One of Mobilize’s mobile enterprise applications that are designed to work
on all networks and mobile devices, Mobilize Web can be implemented in less
than 60 days.
The Lexis-Nexis Group, which unites brands, technologies and information for
customers in the legal, corporate, government and education markets, is a
member of the Reed Elsevier plc publishing company.
