IntraNet Solutions, Inc. today announced the release
of Outside In Version 7.1, a business document viewing and conversion
technology for software application developers, wireless service providers
and hardware manufacturers.

Version 7.1 comes with expanded capabilities that previous versions did
not offer, including the ability to view and convert data in 225 file
formats on multiple platforms, including wireless and mobile devices. With
more than 100 filtering modules that read a specific file format or set of
related file formats, Version 7.1 dynamically loads only the filters
required to decode a specific file and its embeddings, thereby minimizing
the memory footprint of the executing technology.

With Outside In 7.1, the user does not need to install the native
applications in order to read and convert the data, saving critical
resources. The updated and newly supported file formats include:

  • Microsoft Office XP
  • Corel WordPerfect Office 2002
  • Lotus SmartSuite Millennium Edition 9.6
  • Sun StarOffice Write 5.2
  • Microsoft Visio 2002
  • Adobe Acrobat 5.0
  • Adobe FrameMaker MIF 6.0
  • WAP WML specification 2.1

Outside In 7.1 has also added support for Solaris 8 and Red Hat Linux
7.0 platforms.

“The support offered by the Outside In Technology for the latest versions
of popular file formats and platforms demonstrates IntraNet Solutions’
commitment to providing access to critical business information anytime,
anywhere, on any device,” said Scott Norder, president of IntraNet
Solutions’ Software Components Division. “Timely support for leading
business content authoring applications is critical for the success of our
customers.”
