Virus protection firm Trend Micro Inc. Tuesday rolled out its
latest product suite, InterScan WebManager 1.0, which provides Web-based security management and reporting tools for use on intranets and the Internet.
It includes Web traffic virus and malicious code scanning, URL filtering, user Web access management, traffic reporting and proactive notification, as well as digital certificate
revocation checking.
It can be managed from one central location, and can be customized.
InterScan WebManager is designed for Windows NT 4.0 Server with an
Internet Web proxy server and Internet connection. A proxy server is also included in
the product for users without proxy server software.
“As Internet-based e-business activities rise, organizations will not only
need to protect against viruses and other malicious code traveling in Web
traffic, they’ll also need to better manage access to the Web,” said Eva Chen, Trend Micro’s chief technology officer.
“InterScan WebManager provides network managers with a series of logically related
Web access and management tools that are tightly integrated into one
product. . . Companies can provide Internet access to employees and
extranet access to partners without worrying about malicious content or
improper use.”
A beta version of InterScan WebManager 1.0 on Intel NT is available now
for download here. A full release version of InterScan WebManager 1.0 is scheduled to be available at the end of the second quarter through Trend Micro’s network of resellers and partners. Pricing starts at $600 for a 25-user license.
