Yahoo! Inc. Monday launched the Yahoo! Movies Online Shorts Directory in an attempt to provide a single, central location where film fans can find the short film they are looking for.
“Yahoo! Movies brings the popular Yahoo! model of a comprehensive and easy-to-use directory to the world of short films,” said Matt Rightmire, vice president and general manager, media and entertainment, Yahoo! Inc.
“We are providing a single place for people to be entertained through online shorts, one of the most dynamic entertainment vehicles on the Internet. In conjunction with our five leading content providers, this directory is another step toward our goal of delivering the best of online entertainment to Yahoo!’s global audience.”
Short film fans can access the directory at Yahoo! Movies (http://movies.yahoo.com) and can search or browse short films by title, subject, or genre. Filmmakers and fans can also suggest shorts from the Internet for inclusion into the directory. Shorts listed in the directory include films such as Aardman Animations’ Oscar-winning
The featured providers to the Yahoo! Movies Online Shorts Directory include AtomFilms, FilmFilm, Hypnotic, Icebox, and IFILM.
