The Shareholders of Plantation, Florida-based DemandStar.com approved today the pending merger with Seattle’s Onvia.com.

Of the shares represented in person or by proxy at the shareholders’ meeting, over 99 percent voted for the merger. Closing of the transaction is expected early next week.

DemadStar.com is the operator of an online exchange that unites local government purchasers with suppliers of goods and services. Onvia’s acquisition of the company comes as it trys to position itself in the business-to government arena.
