Illinois-based networking integration firm, Anixter, Inc. has appointed Sam Liu as general manager in Hong Kong.

Liu has more than 13 years’ experience in the networking field and, prior to joining Anixter, managed the network integration business of JOS Technology Group and worked as technical support manager at JardinePacific Ltd.

His main responsibility will be to increase Anixter’s market share in Hong Kong for
networking solutions.

“Sam Liu brings substantial specialized industry experience to Anixter and
his appointment is crucial to our strategy of strengthening our position as
a major player in Hong Kong’s network integration market,” said K. H. Wun, Anixter’s president for the Asia Pacific region.

“We are projecting healthy demand for networking solutions in Hong Kong in
1999,” added Wun. “Demand will be driven by competitive companies who invest in new technologies, especially voice and data integration.”

“Anixter’s main differentiators in the marketplace include its long track
record of supporting customers worldwide and its vast range of multivendor
product lines and services,” said Liu.

Liu has an MBA from the University of Hull in the UK and is a graduate of
the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

Regionally, Anixter has 19 offices in nine countries including Vietnam, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, Malaysia, South Korea, Indonesia, China and Australia. The global networking provider’s regional headquarters is in Singapore.
