Boeing Adds Another Site to its Fleet on the Information Runway

Back in March, the Boeing Company announced that it would join Lockheed Martin Corporation, BAE Systems, Raytheon Company and B2B e-commerce solutions company Commerce One to create an independent enterprise that will develop an Internet trading exchange for the global aerospace industry. The Seattle-based aerospace giant’s latest step in that direction is the launch of myboeingfleet.com.

Myboeingfleet.com, which eventually will be integrated into the global trading network, provides a single source of online maintenance, engineering and flight operations data. Boeing partnered with Broadvision, Inc to utilize personalized e-business technology which allows content to be customized for each user. The site’s ” My Profile” application allows users to specify access to documents and information that relate to their specific professional responsibilities.

According to Tom Schick, executive vice president of Boeing Commercial Aviation Services, the company’s goal with myboeingfleet.com is to create a seamless, end-to-end experience for customers who use these online support services.
