Beijing-based Zhaodaola Internet Ltd., an American and Chinese run Web design
firm, has launched its portal, Zhaodaola, which translates as “Found it!”
in Chinese slang.

“The newest and most ambitious Chinese-language Web gateway has a lofty goal:
to reflect a relevance to users’ lifestyles not seen in other mainland
portals,” commented Zhaodaola President Bill Waddell.

The portal is particularly targeting the growing market of young Chinese
professional men who are using the Internet with its Macho Man and Adventure
channels.

Zhaodaola’s developers state that they are starting with a more elementary
suite of content and services and will add layers of complexity to the portal
as China’s Internet market matures.

The portal was originally scheduled to be launched in December 1998.
