Bellevue, Wash.-based Click2learn Wednesday sealed a partnership with Russian technology distributor CSS Group, which will bring Click2learn’s Aspen Enterprise Learning Platform to the Russian market.

“The Russian market for e-Learning is huge and virtually untapped,” said Ruben Agababyan, general manager, CSS. “During the 70 years of communism, Western business strategies and practices, which are now widely accepted, did not apply to the Soviet way of doing business. We have now entered a new era in which we can take advantage of cutting-edge technologies that have evolved in Western Europe and the U.S. With Click2learn’s Aspen platform, we will be able to leapfrog previous training technologies to provide Russian-based companies with sophisticated and market-leading e-Learning solutions.”

Under the terms of the deal, CSS will distribute the Aspen Platform to its Russian client base, which includes Global 500 corporations. CSS also distributes Click2learn’s desktop authoring software, ToolBook.
