Seattle-based CollegeGear.com, an e-commerce company for collegiate products, announced that it has signed a sales and marketing pact with Atlanta-based Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).
CLC serves as an exclusive licensing and marketing company for more than 180 colleges nationwide.

According to David Turnbull, co-founder of CollegeGear.com, CLC’s extensive collegiate industry reach will ensure nationwide exposure for CollegeGear.com on college campuses and to college students, alumni, and fans. “We couldn’t have imagined a better organization to build a long-term and multi-beneficial relationship,” says Turnbull. “Partnering with CLC strengthens our reputation among retailers and manufacturers and raises customer awareness of CollegeGear.com as the online source for collegiate products and services.”

During CLC’s existence, the collegiate market has grown from $250 million in retail sales in 1983 to $2.5 billion today. The CLC/CollegeGear.com alliance will be a joint effort to create incremental growth in a market that has been flat for the past three years.
