Ensim Establishes APAC Headquarters In Singapore

U.S.-headquartered Ensim Corp., a provider of hosting automation software, Wednesday established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore to develop its regional presence and business opportunities.

The Asia Pacific headquarters adds to Ensim’s other locations in the U.S., Europe and India. The Singapore facility will provide resources for sales, customer support and business development across the region, the company said in a statement.

Targeting ISPs, hosting providers and Internet data center operators, Ensim expects to reap “a significant revenue contribution from the region this year” based on what it sees as a growing Web hosting opportunity in Asia Pacific.

“The rapid pace of growth in Asia Pacific is forcing hosting providers to seek new solutions that will extend their competitive advantage through new revenue opportunities and reduced operating costs,” said Rosen Sharma, Ensim’s president and chief executive officer.

“Hosting automation presents the next wave in server-infrastructure efficiencies, and since ServerXchange has already proven its value to customers in the U.S. and Europe, we anticipate that it will be successful in Asia Pacific as well.”

Ensim Asia has already signed up customers such as DataOne Asia and National Computer Systems in Singapore; Asia Online in Malaysia; and iiNet in Australia. These hosting providers use its ServerXchange hosting operations platform, which enables them to build scalable hosting infrastructures, build and manage reseller channels, create and expand plans and service offerings, and develop high-density hosting penetration.

“Ensim’s suite of products and solutions fit the Asia Pacific market place perfectly, enabling these providers to dynamically enhance, scale and automate their hosting services to deliver best of breed applications and value-added services to their customers,” said Effendy Shahul-Hamid, Ensim’s Asia Pacific managing director.

Worldwide, Ensim has about 60 customers. The privately-held company employs more than 100 staff, and had in January this year secured US$64 million in funding, bringing its total investment pool to US$85 million since 1999.

Ensim is funded by Worldview Technology Partners, New Enterprise Associates, CMEA, Onset Venture, Amerindo Technology Advisors, Charter Growth Capital, 3i Technology Partners, Sumitomo Corporation, Presidio Venture Partners, Newton Technology Partners, Epoch Partners and other investors from Silicon Valley.
