Entrust Partners with SECOM to Serve Japanese Market

Entrust Technologies Inc. said it entered into an exclusive distribution
arrangement with SECOM Ltd., a $2.4 billion information systems company and leader in the security services industry in Japan.


Entrust’s product and technology offerings provide security for electronic
interactions through digital certificates and the software to manage those
certificates, called public-key infrastructures (PKIs). With its distribution
agreement with SECOM, Entrust will now have access to Japanese markets.


SECOM operates a security information and communications network and owns
Tokyo
Internet, the country’s second largest ISP.


Under terms of the agreement, SECOM represents Entrust Technologies in
Japan as a master distributor. Financial arrangements were not disclosed.


“SECOM has a great reputation with a large client base and a strong knowledge
of the security marketplace,” said John Ryan, president and CEO of Dallas-
based Entrust Technologies Inc. “We are excited about expanding our
geographical reach and especially by working with a such a strong partner as
SECOM.”
