Entrust Technologies Inc. Tuesday unveiled a new Web security and privacy
product.

Entrust/TruePass is a multi-platform, standards-based security solution.
The end-to-end data protection product protects confidential data while it
is in transit on Web servers, which is where most Internet theft occurs.
TruePass provides digital signatures and encryption of transactions, using
digital certificates to authenticate users.

The product, which is designed for a wide variety of B2B and B2C network
applications, enables unique secure “roaming” access from any workstation
and transparent integration into Web applications to maximize ease of use.

Entrust
(ENTU)
said the product does not rely on a browser plug-in or
ActiveX controls to perform advanced security operations, eliminating the
need for users to install software or agree to security warning dialogs.

“This product allows us to further bring value to companies in protecting
themselves against fraud, ensuring the
integrity of their private data and significantly reducing the costs and
complexities of deployment of secure Web applications,” said Bob Heard,
senior vice-president, marketing and business development, Entrust.

“TruePass helps make it safe for our customers to do business over the
Internet by delivering cost-effective, easy-to-use, end-to-end protection of
confidential data that is deployable within seconds,” he said.
