Euroseek Inks Six Content Agreements

[London, ENGLAND] Swedish Internet company
Euroseek
announced Tuesday six new collaboration agreements
to expand its European portals.

The agreements, all of which are for additional
content, are with Global Market Insite (online
market surveys), Technology Evaluation (IT news),
Europages (company directories), EuroBusiness Link
(Swedish business directory), Bestwin (competitions),
and Jobline (recruitment).

Euroseek, which started as a search engine in
1996, is enjoying a dynamic maturity, having
posted a 43 percent increase in its number of
visitors since April this year.

Earlier this month Euroseek appointed a new
chairman, the position going to Dr. Marcel Erni,
Managing Partner of Partners Group AG, one of
Euroseek’s main shareholders.

Euroseek now employs around 100 people and makes
its portals available throughout Europe in
39 languages.

“We are on our way to becoming a company that has
all the prerequisites of being Europe’s leading
Internet portal and access supplier,” said Catherine
Sahlgren, managing director of Euroseek.

Sahlgren said the addition of so many new partners
was because Euroseek had diversified the content
in its portals.

More content, more services, more visitors is a
policy that appears to be working well for the
company which also operates the Swedish Tjohoo
portal, weather service HALO and public information
register Eurolocal.

According to Sahlgren, Euroseek will soon be seeking
more than just content partners. Its future plans include
a number of European acquisitions aimed at reinforcing
its portal and access operations at a local level.
