IBM Corp. and NetGravity today announced they
entered into a cooperative agreement under which the companies will
jointly provide ad serving, ad management and ad hosting capabilities, as
well as further the use of IBM’s RS/6000 Web server.

Specifically the Internet solutions partnership centers on these key factors:

  • Co-marketing and co-selling of both companies’ Internet software and
    services.

  • NetGravity’s online marketing service bureau, AdCenter, will be hosted by
IBM. AdCenter provides online advertising monitoring to Web publishers,
    interactive agency and merchants.

  • NetGravity will port its AdServer software onto the RS/6000.

  • IBM also plans to employ AdServer software in the management of its own
worldwide online advertising, in ad serving,
    dynamic targeting, forecasting and reporting.

“This complementary relationship advances the efforts of IBM to combine
the hottest hardware, software and services in the market to create end-to-end
Web solutions,” said Nancy Faigen, Vice President, IBM e-business Solutions.
“With this announcement we are now integrating the leading Internet
advertising tools into the solutions we provide to our customers.”

“For our customers, online advertising management is mission-critical in
generating revenue,” said Rick Jackson, Vice President of Marketing for
NetGravity. “IBM’s world class, high-end hosting services are ideal for
ensuring the reliability, security and scalability of AdCenter. We are excited
by the synergy of this relationship for ourselves and our customers.”
