To tap into to the increasing popularity of handheld
computers, InfoSpace.com, Inc.
formed a partnership with AvantGo,
Inc.
Thursday to bring its Web content channels to the portable devices.

As a participant in AvantGo’s Content Partner Program, InfoSpace.com will
provide a wide variety of content, including business, entertainment,
finance, national, world, technology, top stories and sports news to
Avantgo’s Web site, where content can be viewed on
channels by handheld devices.

Mobile users can choose which channels they want to receive, which are then
automatically updated each time the handheld device is synchronized. AvantGo
currently includes more than 1,000 channels from partners including The Motley Fool, USAToday Online, The Wall Street Journal Interactive Edition,
The New York Times and Weather 24.

Naveen Jain, Infospace.com’s CEO, said the intent of the deal is to reach all
Internet users.

“InfoSpace.com is committed to bringing content and commerce solutions to
Internet users wherever they access the Internet,” he said. “We are pleased
to be working with AvantGo to supply the growing number of handheld
computer users with an array of InfoSpace.com content information that is
eminently useful to people on the go.”
