International Datacasting Tapped By Radio Express

International Datacasting Corp.’s SuperFlex Multimedia
Datacasting System has been selected by Radio Express to establish an
internet protocol (IP) based, DVB satellite radio network in Slovakia.

Radio Express will use the network to send radio programming, compressed with
MP3 encoders, from Bratislava to 24 radio stations throughout the
Slovak Republic. The stations, which will be equipped with IDC’s SuperFlex
SR2000 receivers fitted with DSP-based, MP3 audio decoder cards, will decode
the audio and rebroadcast it to listeners via FM transmitters.

In addition to using SuperFlex to transfer audio content to the radio
stations, Radio Express plans to use the network to broadcast data to car
radios and a network of electronic billboards placed along highways. The
system will relay such information as frontier crossing status, detours, snow
reports, train lock-outs, air connections and exchange rates. Radio Express’
system is also expandable to include other Internet and multimedia data
services.

SuperFlex is a flexible digital satellite networking system designed to
distribute Internet services, multimedia data, streaming media, audio and
video by satellite in point-to-multipoint applications.
