  • Lycos (NASDAQ:LCOS) swaps 100,000 shares of common stock valued at $4 million for one million shares of GlobeComm, which runs the iName email service. The move echoes the trend among search and navigation sites to become more of a destination rather than passthrough to the Web.

  • CDnow (NASDAQ:CDNW) tops the music e-tail sites according to February data from Media Metrix with its 2.4% percent reach of home Internet users.

  • Security Dynamics (NASDAQ:SDTI), a leading provider of enterprise security solutions agrees to acquire Intrusion Detection Inc. for 784,000 shares of SDTI in exchange for all of the outstanding shares of Intrusion Detection Inc. Deal value is approximately $32.5 million and will be accounted for as a pooling of interests.
