Digital Island, of Honolulu, Hawaii, has appointed London-based Jacobs Rimell to introduce its Virtual Server Distribution
(VSD), Managed Bandwidth and other services to UK companies.

Digital Island, with a global partner program that extends to resellers
and agents in Europe, Asia and Australia, styles itself as “the first global
applications network for the digital economy.”

Co-founded by David Jacobs, Jacobs Rimell provides solutions and
consulting services to UK companies who want to deploy global,
integrated network and Internet technology infrastructures.

“There are tremendous synergies between Digital Island’s approach to
global applications deployment and our role as integrators of Internet
technology,” said Jon Moore, business development manager at Jacobs Rimell. “By joining forces with a company at the leading edge of
e-commerce applications and by integrating our know-how with Digital
Island’s solutions, we’re offering UK companies a competitive advantage
through significantly more reliable and cost-effective global connectivity.”

“Through Jacobs Rimell, corporations in the UK can
bypass the international chokepoints of the public Internet and rapidly
gain access to the 17 countries now served by Digital Island,” said Steve Elston, managing director of Digital Island’s Global Partner
Program.

Jacobs Rimell will be the first Digital Island sales agent in the United
Kingdom.
