E-commerce specialists at Walsh Simmons
have created laterooms.com,
a database of late availability hotel rooms which is expected
to pose a serious challenge to
lastminute.com.

The new service at laterooms.com was launched to the
UK hotel trade less than a month ago and went online
to the public on Monday. It features 50,000 reduced room
rates at over 500 hotels in the UK, with savings of up to
80 per cent on normal rates.

“Everyone knows hotels will reduce their rates to help
fill empty beds but finding the hotels with the best
deals was impossible until the Internet came along,” said
Steve Walsh, senior partner at Walsh Simmons.

“For the business traveller called away at short notice
LateRooms means they can now book a better hotel than
their expenses would normally allow. While those able to
take a holiday break at a moment’s notice can stay in
four star splendour at a one star price.”

Based in Manchester where it employs around 50 people,
Walsh Simmons has e-commerce clients that include
Great Universal Stores, Co-op Travelcare Direct, Alfred
McAlpine Homes, West Yorkshire Police and Halifax Bank.

Walsh Simmons says it is developing a Global Cities
version of laterooms.com, and plans a launch this side
of Christmas.
