Macromedia Ships Free Educational Tool Suite

Macromedia is now shipping Web Design 101, a free educational tool suite for qualified instructors at degree-issuing institutions
where Web design is on the curriculum.

Web Design 101 includes six hours of instruction on each of the vendor’s major design tools–Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Flash and FreeHand–together with 90-day versions of the
software for installation on up to 50 computers.

Currently, Macromedia is offering its design software to students at a special
price of $99 for each of the four packages. They are available from
educational resellers, and the offer is good through October 31, 1998.

“It is important for us to prepare our students for their careers, and using current software is
critical to helping our students succeed when they graduate,” said Mary Madden, technology development coordinator on the Multimedia Studies Program at San Francisco State University. “I like the fact that
Web Design 101 is modular, and I can choose which products are most appropriate for our classrooms and still take advantage of the pre-written curricula.”

In further support of its products, Macromedia is sponsoring half-day
seminars about Web Design 101 in cities across the United States.
