Mountain View, Calif.-based Internet e-business solutions provider Marimba
Inc. today launched several initiatives, including a new
XML-based performance management product family.

The company also said that its Castanet and Timbale products are being
enhanced and re-branded “as part of the company’s change management offering.”

The new performance management products are designed for customers that need
to monitor the performance of their e-business applications and services, Marimba said.

Like a lot of e-business companies, Marimba’s stock is well off its 52-week
high of almost $69, closing Friday at about $3.37.

The new performance management products will monitor performance of critical
online applications and services to help enterprises maintain optimal
performance and minimize downtime. The first member in this product family –
the Marimba Web Traffic Monitor – is currently scheduled to be generally
available in the third quarter of 2001.

The company also enhanced its existing Castanet and Timbale lines, making
them available in three modular product families: Server Management,
Desktop/Mobile Management and Embedded Management.

Pricing for Marimba’s Change Management product families begins at $30,000.
Pilot pricing for Web Traffic Monitor begins at $25,000 and varies based on
network configuration.

“Marimba’s new performance management offering will complement our existing
change management products, giving our customers industry-leading solutions
in two crucial systems management disciplines,” said John Olsen, president
and chief executive officer of Marimba.
