Calgary, Alberta-based Net Shepherd and Dun & Bradstreet announced a Commercial Service Agreement covering three separate data-oriented projects.
The first project, currently in progress, exploits Net Shepherd’s Internet
Content Rating Community–the Internet Explorers Society–an online
community whose members are actual Internet users. Members of the Internet
Explorers Society will review and assess Web pages based on Dun &
Bradstreet’s ratings criteria.
Net Shepherd will have members of its rating community check the accuracy of
previously collected D&B business data such as Web site addresses, contact
names, and physical addresses.
The second project will focus on producing relevant business-related content
from the Internet, leveraging Net Shepherd’s expertise in Internet content
characterization.
Third, the companies will collaborate to design and implement new methods
and processes of collecting a wider range of information that can enhance
the existing D&B services and create new products and services for D&B’s
customers.
“The Net Shepherd solution allows D&B to continue to provide its customers
with the highest quality information about commerce on the Internet,” said
David Herman, D&B Director of Global Marketing. “They will be able to
quickly find a company’s Web address, access information about that
company, find out who owns the site, and link to it. It’s where virtual
meets reality.”
