Netscape Taps NetSol As Domain Registrar

Dec 17, 1998

Netscape
Communications Corp.
Thursday said Network Solutions Inc. will be the sole
provider of Web address registration services on its Netcenter portal and
throughout the site’s international and national channels.

Terms of the agreement also call for Network Solutions to market
additional products and services on Netscape, such as the dot com mail
service, a portable business e-mail solution.

Thursday’s Netscape union is the latest in a slew of Network Solutions
alliances. The company announced Tuesday an agreement with Yahoo! to provide domain registration
services throughout the portal’s international sites.

“The degree of exposure achieved in our relationship with Netscape creates
a powerful marketing opportunity for Network Solutions as we extend our
brand globally across the entire Internet and target the millions of
businesses and individuals who need to make a name for themselves online,”
said Doug
Wolford, senior vice president of marketing and sales at Network
Solutions.

“This agreement is one of the tools we will use to make Web addresses the
first and best online purchase that businesses make in 1999.”
