[Mississauga, CANADA] United Parcel Service Canada has launched UPS
Signature Tracking, a Web feature that is expected to affect the way
its customers do business. It’s the first interactive Internet
membership service to be released on the UPS Canada Web site.
The new feature allows customers to verify that a package was
received by viewing the recipient’s handwritten signature on the Web.
Other benefits of the program include the ability to view collect on
delivery (C.O.D.) information, as well as full delivery name and
address details online.
“Years ago, we began making a significant investment in technology,
more than a billion dollars each year,” said Wayne Bosch, director of
customer automation at UPS Canada. “It is because of our
state-of-the-art infrastructure that we are able to offer UPS Signature Tracking
as an online tool to our Canadian customers.”
The service has an exclusive PIN-controlled security feature that
helps prevent unauthorized access to sensitive delivery information
so that privacy is not compromised. The user ID and password are
protected through 128-bit encryption using secured servers.
Customers have the flexibility to control who has access to their
accounts and to specific features such as digital signature, delivery
address, or C.O.D information.
