For the first time, the official Olympics Web site will sell online
advertising and sponsorship opportunities for Olympic sponsors, as well as
for Internet-based companies, according to The Sydney Organising Committee
for the Olympic Games.

Advertising will run on sydney.olympic.org, a site developed
by IBM Corp. and the Sydney Organising Committee.

The Sydney Olympics contracted with Phase2Media and BMCMedia.com to represent the site to
advertisers. Packages include banner presence, sponsorship/affiliation with
site content,
e-commerce opportunities, and research support. The Sydney Games open in
September 2000.
