e-Business enabler and developer of intelligent transport solutions Stratech Systems has won a more than S$2 million (US$1.1 million) contract to implement an ERP solution for Indonesia’s PT. National Panasonic Gobel, a supplier of consumer electronics.

According to a Stratech spokesperson, the Singapore Mainboard-listed company will start implementing the J.D. Edwards OneWorld Xe ERP package for PT. National Panasonic Gobel this month; the project will last about one year.

It is leveraging its accumulated expertise in developing intelligent transport systems to transform large organizations such as its new Indonesian customer from a third-party logistics provider (3PL) into the next-generation fourth-party logistics provider (4PL). Where a 3PL provides its own internal capabilities to the clients, a 4PL will assemble, integrate and manage its internal resources, capabilities and technologies with those of multiple and complementary service providers to deliver a total e-logistics SCM solution globally.

Singapore-headquartered Stratech’s core competency in developing intelligent transport systems has propelled it into the public eye. Among its many successes are: a S$40.3 million (US$22.6 million) contract to develop transit.smart, Singapore’s Bus Traveler Information System targeted for launch in April 2003; and a recent June 2001 launch of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore‘s Certificate of Entitlements (COE) Open Bidding System in a contract worth S$5.2 million (US$3 million).

The PT. National Panasonic Gobel deal is not Stratech’s first foray into the Asia Pacific market, though. It had earlier this year entered the Indian IT market, as well as formed a joint venture with Hong Kong’s Henderson Cyber, called Henderson Stratech.

The Stratech spokesperson added that the company had just completed a transportation study for the Shanghai Municipal Government, a project worth some S$1.6 million (US$900,000).

In the area of e-business, Stratech’s core competencies are in the fields of ASP provisioning, healthcare benefits/schemes management and processing, online dynamic pricing, secure e-commerce payment, procurement and fulfillment systems, Internet data centers and e-learning.
