With the success of web awards shows such as the Webbies and Seattle’s Zurbies, Real Networks is jumping into the awards game.
The company has unveiled its plan for the First Annual Take5 Awards. For the five Fridays from October 6 through November 3, each Take5 section Music, Comedy, Movies and Hot Clicks will showcase one award category, and viewers will be able to cast their vote for their favorite nominees.
Take5, which is celebrating its one-year anniversary on November 8, is a streaming media “best of the Web” daily selection of music and entertainment, which can be accessed only through RealPlayer versions 7 and 8.
The twenty Take5 Award winners will be unveiled in a special Take5 Winner’s Edition on November 10.
