Microsoft Hong Kong has released the beta of
BackOffice Small Business Server version 4.5, which it believes is ideal for
Hong Kong’s abundant small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

“Technology providers in Hong Kong are facing increasing demand from small
and medium-sized businesses to implement systems with network and Internet
access that streamline operations while providing a significant return on
IT investment,” said Elsie Kong, senior product marketing manager.

“By offering comprehensive benefits that go beyond file and print,
including a flexible growth plan to maximize technology investments, Small
Business Server 4.5 opens the way for value-added providers to meet their
clients needs,” said Kong.

There are over 280,000 SMEs in Hong Kong constituting 98 percent of the
enterprises in Hong Kong. Together they employ 60 percent (1.4 million
persons) of the total workforce.
