SkyMall Inc.’s e-commerce subsidiary skymall.com inc. launched www.skymalltravel.com, designed as a
vertical portal for business travelers.
The site was created to help time-challenged business travelers quickly and
easily find the information and services they need to facilitate trip
planning, the company said.
skymalltravel.com features linked directories for airlines, hotels, rental
car and online booking services, as well as content and tools for business
travelers.
Unlike most travel Web sites, skymalltravel.com said it allows the business
traveler to choose a booking option, whether it’s a direct link to an airline
or hotel Web site or an online booking service.
“The Web site was built with the intention of reaching both the managed
business traveler whose corporate travel department (or an outside travel
agency) typically books their trips, but who still has a need for more travel
resources, and the small business and self-employed travelers who book their
own trips,” said Sandy Goldman, vice president for business development at
skymall.com.
Tools include:
- MyTravelPlanner.com, which provides an easy-to-use form that allows a
traveler to input all appointments, contact numbers and notes along with
flight, car rental and hotel information. - MileageManager, a free, online, personalized service that tracks frequent
travel reward programs and consolidates them in one online report for easy
review. - Keep in Touch. Through its partnership with MyFamily.com, skymalltravel.com
is helping business travelers keep in touch with their families while on the
road. MyFamily.com is an Internet community that provides travelers with
free, private and secure Web sites to host and share pictures, birthdays and
special dates, e-mail messages and live chat sessions.
