Sympatico, SABRE Group Conclude Travel Service Deal

Sympatico and The SABRE Group struck a multi-year agreement naming Travelocity, an Internet travel site, as Sympatico’s exclusive full service travel provider.

The agreement provides Travelocity with the exclusive right to offer its
travel booking services to the Sympatico service, one of Canada’s largest
online audiences, the companies said.

The free service will be available later this year through Sympatico’s homepage, or directly at travel.sympatico.ca. It will allow users to make air, hotel, and car reservations with more than 420 airlines, 40,000 hotels, and 50 car rental agencies, and provide access to a variety of travel planning tools and information in a secure online environment, the firms stated.

“By offering a relevant online environment for Canadians on the Internet, Sympatico has amassed an unparalleled audience,” said Jane Minett, Executive Producer, Sympatico. “As a result, industry leaders like The SABRE Group have recognized that a presence on Sympatico is the best way to effectively reach the Canadian market.”

Sympatico is one of Canada’s largest and most widely available Internet service, with more than 400,000 subscribers in all 10 provinces and both territories, currently generating more than 45 million pageviews each month.

The SABRE Group is a world leader in the electronic distribution of travel
and travel-related services.
