Looking to accelerate its response time to subscribers, theglobe.com Wednesday teamed up with Network Appliance, Inc. to speed service
without adding infrastructure.

theglobe.com will implement Network Appliance NetCache, an appliance
designed to do the work of five standard Web servers. It improves response
times, and guarantees freshness of content across distributed sites, the
company said. It also can be implemented with intranet systems.

“NetCache has enabled us to handle significantly more traffic by increasing
our capacity and allowing us
to decrease response time for our customers,” said Dean Daniels, chief
operating officer at theglobe.com.

“We selected the NetCache appliance because its high performance
architecture can scale smoothly with
our rapidly growing capacity requirements.”
