Redstone Telecom Friday
launched
OnLine Call Manager, the UK’s first online call answering service.

The service is designed to solve the problem of single-line users
who miss telephone calls when they are connected to the Internet.

OnLine Call Manager is a joint venture between Redstone Telecom and
Witchity Capital Corporation. It is completely subscription-free,
and enables any Internet user to manage incoming calls while
on the Internet, without installing a second line.

In the UK, the vast majority of people — as many as 92 per
cent, according to Redstone Telecom — have only a single
telephone line. Yet several members of a family may wish
to use the Internet, effectively blocking ordinary telephone
calls. OnLine Call Manager is the first service to address
this problem.

Users of OnLine Call Manager receive an automatic message
on their computer when a call is being made to them. They
then have the option of answering the call immediately,
diverting it elsewhere — such as to a mobile phone or
a voicemail box — or sending the caller a message to
promise a callback.

Software for OnLine Call Manager needs to be downloaded from
www.ocm.uk.com. It
works with all ISPs, many of whom may shortly be able to
provide the software directly to their customers, following
negotiations with Redstone Telecom.

A privately financed company, Redstone Telecom announced
in July that it plans to float on the London Stock Exchange this
autumn.
