Worlds.com, a 3D site that offers
real-time chat, on Thursday made its first big effort to capture the
public’s attention, with an advertising campaign in New York, San
Francisco, and Boston that features the tagline, “Beam Into the Internet.”

The campaign, which was designed by Ignition Inc., consists of nine
executions for print and outdoor, and four radio spots. In addition, print
ads will run in The Industry Standard and Red Herring, as
part of an effort to raise the company’s profile in the Internet industry.

“We are launching the campaign as part of our strategy to establish the
brand identity for our rich media 3D environments, as well as increase our
consumer user base,” said Debra Sito, executive vice president of business
development and marketing at Worlds.com.

“Additionally, our 3D environments are clearly depicted in the
advertisements to show how 3D adds a new dimension to the Internet with
respect to advertising, e-commerce and community.”

One ad with a futuristic theme features copy reading,” 1492: The World Is
No Longer Flat. 2000: Neither Is Your Web Site.”Another ad pokes fun of
the experiences one can have online, with copy reading, “Face Facts, This
May Be The Only Chance You Have Of Dancing With A Swedish Girl.”

The radio spots highlight the chat features of Worlds.com. One features two
college students chatting online with two Swedish models. Another takes
place in an after-hours club environment on the site, and the third takes
place in a virtual Yankee stadium.
