Warp 10 Technologies Inc. said that its adsGallery.com site and IBM will sponsor an online creative competition
for rich media ads.
Called the HotMedia Turn up the Heat Sweepstakes and Design Competition, the
contest will highlight AdsGallery.com as an online showcase of advertising,
as well as promote the use of IBM’s rich media toolkit, HotMedia.
The event will go live with its own Web site hosted by
adsGallery.com and will run through Sept. 21. Visitors can download the
latest version of HotMedia 2.0 free at the site.
Also partnering with AdsGallery.com are Advertising Age, ChannelSeven.com,
ClickZ, DoubleClick, Engage, Index Stock Imagery, IPIX, Macromedia, NetGravity,
NewMedia and the New York New Media Association (NYNMA).
Each of the partners will support the event with promotions to encourage the
creative community to join in the competition.
There will be hundreds of prizes given out to winners drawn from the
sweepstakes entries. Those who enter the Design Competition are asked to
select a fictitious advertising scenario and create a HotMedia banner ad.
They may enter as often as they like. Grand Prize is a week for two in
Tahiti. Other prizes include a trip to Miami’s South Beach, a home theater
system, a digital camera, bottles of salsa, sweatshirts from the New York
City Fire Department, “Some Like it Hot” videos, cash, and Ticketmaster gift
certificates.
A panel of independent industry experts will judge the HotMedia banner ad
submissions, which will be displayed in a Winner’s Showcase hosted by
adsGallery.com.
The adsGallery.com site provides a searchable directory of thousands of major
advertising agencies and independent designers and showcases hundreds of
portfolios of creative campaigns.
