Advertising Leader Joins The Walden Group Venture Capital Firm

Rich LeFurgy, one of the early leaders in the Internet’s advertising industry, has joined
The Walden Group, a San Francisco-based venture capital firm, as a
consultant to the firm’s Walden
Media & Information Technology (WMIT) fund.

LeFurgy will advise Walden’s new media and Internet practice on
online advertising and
marketing, evaluating potential investments and adding strategic value and
vision to companies in which
Walden has invested.

“Rich brings to venture capital a unique set of attributes–20 years of
strategic advertising counsel,
start-up experience and a solid reputation as an Internet industry leader,”
said Steven L. Eskenazi,
general partner of The Walden Group.

“We invest in new media and Internet companies with a focus on software,
interactive services and
enabling technology,” said Eskenazi. “Our current and potential investments
in e-commerce, advertising,
digital entertainment and education companies will benefit greatly from
Rich’s hands-on industry
experience, as well as the financial backing of Walden and our strategic
partners.”

LeFurgy is the founder of the Internet Advertising Bureau, and has been active in all facets of the Internet advertising industry.
