Bluestreak Extends Buying Streak

In its second acquisition in as many months, Bluestreak, of Newport, R.I., has bought Takira, of San Francisco, to improve its marketing technology and customer base.

The pickup comes less than two months after Bluestreak’s purchase of e2 Communications, a
Plano, Texas, e-mail marketer.

It’s another step in Bluestreak’s evolution from “rich media company” to full-service online ad and marketing firm.

“Takira has developed extraordinary expertise by creating highly effective marketing programs,” said Peter Corrao, Bluestreak’s president and CEO. “Bluestreak will
continue to offer this high level of service to our major clients.”

Founded in 1999, Takira helps launch referral, sweepstakes, promotional and customer intelligence campaigns for Fortune 500 firms including AT&T, Ebay
and Microsoft.

Its technology platform, ConsumerSource, has also been upgraded to allow clients to reach customers and potential customers via cellular phones

The firms leaders — CEO Johnson Chao, Suzanne Van Spyk, VP of Client Services and Andrew Thelen, COO — will join Bluestreak. The trio hold Harvard
