Classifieds2000 Inc., a provider of
free, real-time, classified advertising on the Internet, reported it will
provide
users of the Switchboard Internet Directory with
easy access to its database of classified ads.
Under terms of the agreement, Classifieds2000 will create a co-branded version
of its service for Switchboard that will be integrated across Switchboard’s
Web site.
Switchboard visitors will have to the more than 1.5 million
classified advertising listings from Classifieds2000 in such diverse
categories as automobiles, rentals, real estate, employment, personals and
general merchandise. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Classifieds2000 Network includes more than 115 distribution partner Web
sites, including 12 of the top 20 sites on the Internet (as measured by Media
Metrix), the company said.
“Classifieds2000 is a great addition to Switchboard, giving our members the
quickest route to an extensive variety of online classifieds,” said Douglas
McIntyre, president of Switchboard.
In the Business Category search, the Switchboard search results will be
integrated with the Classifieds2000 service, which means that when users click
on the classifieds link, it takes them to a classifieds search page that
already knows each user’s location and category selection.
Switchboard, which claims more than 40 million searches each month, is a
majority owned subsidiary of Banyan Systems Inc.
