Euroserve Signs Exclusive Pan-European Deal With InterAd

Apr 6, 1998

Euroserve Media, the European licensee of IMGIS Inc. that is establishing an AdForce
Internet ad-serving system in Europe, signed an exclusive network agreement
with InterAd, Europe’s new
Internet ad sales organization.

Euroserve’s system, incorporating Cupertino, CA-based IMGIS’s AdForce
technology, will be fully operational by May, the company said. It provides
centralized, Euro-specific ad serving done directly from Europe. Designed to
carry a billion advertisements daily, it will be used exclusively across
InterAd’s represented “Premier Sites” and “Site Networks.”

IMGIS and Euroserve said they are working together to create language and
country-specific versions of the software. Pan-European multilingual
campaigns, segmented by country, will be automatically delivered from a
single system to the Internet user in his or her own language.

Through a partnership agreement with ad serving provider AdTech, the system
will be integrated with comprehensive European databases to allow InterAd’s
advertisers to pinpoint audiences and deliver messages to qualified
prospects. AdTech will manage the serving and data center from Frankfurt.
Financial terms of the various arrangements were not disclosed.

“The pan-European focus of InterAd makes it the ideal partner for
Euroserve. Combining our advanced and proven advertising technology with
InterAd’s experience in Internet ad sales makes perfect sense to us and
will, I believe, form an irresistible solution for advertisers,” said
Ulrich Schmidt, CEO, of Euroserve.

Through AdForce, Euroserve incorporates a highly sophisticated impression
inventory management facility, precision targeting, local language and
currency interfaces, and real-time analysis and reporting, the company said.
Every campaign is audited by an independent third party to verify results.

Prior to May, InterAd’s ad serving will be backed up directly via the IMGIS
system.

InterAd Holdings Ltd. was formed by employees of the former SOFTBANK
Interactive Marketing’s European operation, who left after SOFTBANK was
acquired by ZULU-tek.

Euroserve is an Internet marketing and advertising organization based in
Nuremberg, Germany, with offices throughout Europe.
