Carat Interactive has been tapped to handle online marketing for Icelandair. Carat will provide creative, media buying, CRM and search engine marketing services.

The agency’s first task will be to launch a registration program to grow Icelandair’s “Lucky Fares” database, a Web-based club for discounted fares. Carat will also launch a cost-per-click search initiative to drive traffic and sales. The initial marketing effort is set to launch this month.

T3 (The Think Tank), an integrated marketing firm with offices in Austin, Texas, and New York, has hired seven new employees. The recent hires include an interactive traffic manager and an interactive account supervisor.

Lori Lutz comes aboard as an interactive account supervisor on the Samsung and Sprint accounts. She last worked at Euro Circle RSCG in Boston as senior account manager for Verizon Online DSL, Verizon Small Business and Verizon Residential Services.

Michael Hammill joins as interactive traffic manager, from Lowe Worldwide in New York. He will work with media planners, account managers and clients to deliver online creative materials to media properties and troubleshoot creative and technical issues.

Also joining are Helen Lee as an account coordinator, from DY&R Wunderman Advertising in Taipei, Taiwan; Carolyn Malerba as an interactive designer; Kathi Moore as an account coordinator on Dell SMB interactive; Lorene Moore as digital asset management assistant; and Suzanne Spears as an account executive on the Dell SMB catalog.

Per Caroe has joined Redwood City, Calif.-based e-mail marketing firm EmailLabs as a senior account exec.

Caroe was most recently with EnScaler, a developer of platforms for streaming media services and applications. He led that company’s effort to market a digital rights and video asset management product.
