Gannett has acquired a one-third interest in CareerBuilder, joining Knight- Ridder
and Tribune Company
as owners of the online job site. The companies also announced that more than 90 Gannett newspapers will become CareerBuilder affiliates and that CareerBuilder will power the career channel on USAToday.com, which is owned by Gannett.
In print, CareerBuilder will now deliver local help wanted ads to a combined Sunday circulation of 15 million through more than 130 newspapers. Online, CareerBuilder will be exposed to nearly 26 million monthly unique visitors through the Gannett, Knight Ridder and Tribune newspaper Web sites.
The McLean, Va.-based Gannett is an international news and information company that publishes 94 daily newspapers in the U.S. and also owns more than 400 non-daily publications in the U.S. In the U.K., Gannett subsidiary Newsquest plc publishes more than 300 titles, including 15 daily newspapers. Gannett also operates 22 television stations in the U.S. and has a powerful Internet presence with sites sponsored by its TV stations and newspapers.

Job seekers can search more than 400,000 continuously updated postings at CareerBuilder, representing more than 25,000 employers in virtually every industry, field and location.
