Harris to Market Inso’s Quest Classified System

Boston-based Inso Corp. said at Interactive Newspapers ’98
in Seattle that Harris Publishing Systems Corp. had licensed its new Quest
Internet Classifieds (QUIC) system.

Harris plans to market the system to newspaper publishers under the name of
WebCASH to complement its existing classified advertising publishing
systems. Financial details of the arrangement were not disclosed.

Inso said QUIC is a classified ad publishing solution that features fuzzy
logic, proximity, and concept-based search capabilities, as well as
advanced ad
parsing and dimensionalization.

It allows Web site visitors to always find the “best fit” results in a
classified ad database–ranked and graded by how closely they match their
ideal preferences.

QUIC automatically integrates with existing classified ad publishing systems,
providing custom publication templates, banner ad management, personalized
searches, category knowledge (cars, real estate, employment, etc.), integrated
graphics, drill-down and site linking, and remote site management.

“The introduction of QUIC fuzzy logic to the Harris WebCASH advertising
application is an exciting, new system capability,” said Jerry Levitz,
director of National Field Sales for Harris Publishing Systems.

“Knowledge-mapping logic in the QUIC search engine allows newspaper
advertising sales
representatives to concentrate on selling by totally eliminating the need to
put search (key) words into specific header fields.”

Harris Publishing Systems Corp. is a division of Harris Corp. headquartered in Melbourne, FL.
It provides electronic systems for the publishing and printing industry.
