  PLANO, Texas, June 1–Nucentrix Broadband Networks, a provider of broadband wireless services in medium and small
  markets, announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to purchase
  Multichannel Multipoint Distribution Service broadband wireless
  spectrum in the greater Rockford, Illinois area. Through the announced
  acquisition, Nucentrix will acquire the rights to 33 channels, or 196 MHz,
  of MMDS spectrum in a service area that includes over 250,000 households.
  Nucentrix has agreed to pay $6 million for the spectrum, including $5.6
  million in common stock of Nucentrix and up to $400,000 in assumption of
  debt payable to the Federal Communications Commission. The acquisition will
  increase the number of estimated households in Nucentrix’s service areas to
  over 9.1 million.
