Hoover’s Appoints New VP of Advertising and E-Commerce

Austin, TX-based business information provider Hoover’s Inc., publisher of Hoover’s Online, named Jani Farlow Spede as
vice president of advertising and e-commerce.

Spede joined Hoover’s in 1995 as publicity manager and was promoted to vice
president of marketing and communications in 1996. During this time, Spede
led Hoover’s marketing and customer service groups. Prior to joining
Hoover’s, she held marketing and communications positions at Shands Hospital
and the University of Florida.

In her new role, Spede will work to expand Hoover’s sponsorships, advertising
sales and e-commerce team. She will direct efforts to craft custom,
integrated marketing arrangements that match the needs of advertisers,
sponsors and e-tailers with the Hoover’s audience, the company said.

Hoover’s provides information about approximately 14,000 public and private
companies. Hoover’s Online has relationships with more than 30 Internet and
online services including those of America Online, Dialog, Infoseek,
Microsoft, Reuters and Yahoo!.
