Infoseek Corp. in Sunnyvale, CA formed an alliance with Chicago-based Apartments.com, a provider of highly visual, interactive online apartment ads.
The deal makes Apartments.com the exclusive online apartment finding content
provider on Infoseek’s Real Estate home page, enabling Infoseek users to
directly access Apartments.com’s national database of more than 600,000
apartment listings and links to help make the moving process easier. Financial
terms were not disclosed,
In the coming months, Infoseek said, its users will also have full access
through Apartments.com to the classified apartment listings of more than 100
top newspaper Web sites, aggregated as part of the strategy of
Apartments.com’s parent company, Classified Ventures.
“Apartments.com is committed to delivering the most visual and detailed
apartment listings online,” said Bruce Mitchell, president and general manager
of Apartments.com. “Our new partnership with Infoseek strengthens our mission
of making the apartment search process as easy and effective as possible for
renters while generating maximum exposure for our property manager clients.”
Apartments.com allows search users to focus in on 27 different amenities, from
fireplaces to pets.
Participating apartment communities offer up to 40 full-color, expandable
photos of the building’s exterior, every room in the apartment, floor plans,
and more than 100 other pieces of information. The Video Walk-Around, an
interactive feature available with many listings, allows users to pan around
and zoom in and out.
